This special duo from Kenya is coming to Munich: Sven Kacirek and Olith Ratego blend electronica with the folk traditions of Kenya’s Luo people — and vice versa.

Their second album was recently released. “Negore” has been well received internationally. NPR and BBC Radio gave it high praise, as did the influential platform Bandcamp. And rightly so — subtly crafted music needs strong allies. After all, Negore doesn’t scream for attention or demand the spotlight. ODD OKODDO instead gently guide us into a contemplative universe. Sven Kacirek delicately enhances Olith’s lyrical compositions. Their music is rich with rhythmic and melodic textures. The lyrics speak of love, fate, and the kind of persistence that brings about change.

When ODD OKODDO perform live, they reinterpret their own songs each time. Every concert offers a new experience — and at least one of them should be witnessed.
