A show on a Monday! First basement show on a Monday? There was no other choice but to put on this show. Our friends from Vienna (via Siluh Records) are coming to visit us after their first ever UK shows and we are very excited. The new Laundromat Chicks album ‘Sometimes Possessed’ has been a community favorite and the lineup is completed with the Vienna rock group Topsy Turvy (overlapping members with Laundromat Chicks), playing their first show in Munich, supported by local band Soft Collapse. Laundromat Chicks Since taking the Vienna music scene by storm with debut „Trouble“ (2022) and follow-up „Lightning Trails“ (2023), jangle pop maestros Laundromat Chicksoccupy that rare pleasure zone where humor, swagger and vulnerability overlap. From adolescent power pop anthems to crisp jangle pop, Laundromat Chicksare the kind of band who remind you of all your favorite bands at once. On their latest album „Sometimes Possessed“–out on Siluh Records–the band expands their sound palette and songwriting further, alternating their usual quick-witted guitar anthems with more abstract, mellow-sounding musical ideas. Topsy Turvy The trio Topsy Turvy is the latest discovery from the seemingly inexhaustible pool of the new Viennese indie scene. On their debut album, Theresa Strohmer (guitar),Lena Pöttinger (drums) and Victoria Aron (bass) manage to combine the energy of 80s British post-punk with drivingsurf influences and beautifully quirky indie pop melodies. Soft Collapse Gentle noise and the school bus line that suddenly has a different name. It all adds up to the soundtrack of a movie that unfortunately nobody went to see. With shimmering drums, interwoven melodies and sounds of guitars, violin, keys and soft vocals, an atmosphere of fragility is created.tags: #band, #basementcomputer, #laundromatchicks, #live, #milla, #munich, #music, #shamo, #softcollapse, #topsyturvy
