AQ 01 05 Schichten, die wir sehen

The video work „Schichten, die wir sehen“ (The Layers We See) by Nikolai Gümbel explores the newly developed district of Freiham in the West of Munich—a place in transition, marked by overlooked states between construction, infrastructure, labor, and sociocultural structures. Visible and invisible layers are excavated and interwoven. „Schichten, die wir sehen“ brings together different perspectives, temporalities, demands, and ambitions that shape urban transformation. In the dynamic interplay of dust and soil, excavation and construction, the film follows the traces and signs that emerge and disappear in the midst of transition.
